Selection for Admission

Admission to XIMIT's PGDM+MBA is through a three-tier selection process comprising of a Written Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. As stipulated by the Government of India, XIMIT has determined to accept the marks of the Common Entrance Test conducted nationally.

The Written Test:

Students should clear any of the following test:

XIMIT's Efficiency Test for Admissions (XETA).

AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA)

CAT/MAT/XAT

GMAT/GRE

However, XIMIT reserves the right to determine the cutoff score in these examinations for calling candidates for GD/Interview. In case of CAT, applicants who have been called for final selection in any of the six IIMs, would automatically be called for GD/Interview.

Exemption from the Written Test:

XIMIT has decided to consider the results of the following examinations for admission in lieu of the above Written Tests:

n GATE / CSIR / ICSSRI / ICAR fellowship examinations - proof of qualification to be provided.

n UGC-JRF/NET tests - proof of clearing to be provided.

n Any written test conducted by UPSC on all India basis where the minimum qualification requirement is graduation, i.e. CDS, Civil Service Preliminary Examinations etc. - proof of clearing the examination required.

n Any written test conducted by any Central Public Sector Undertaking on all India basis for selection of graduates as Officer Trainees. - call letter for final selection to be provided.

On the basis of the marks scored in the Written Test and the information provided, shortlisted candidates would be called for Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) at the Institute for final selection. The venue of the GD & PI may be fixed at few other places also.

FOR DEFENSE/PARA MILITARY PERSONNEL

Released Short Service/discharged Commissioned (SSC) officers or serving officers of the Defense Services and para-military forces of the Government of India would be directly considered for short listing for GD/Interview. They would also be exempted from appearing in the written tests.

NRI SPONSORED/FOREIGN STUDENTS

For foreign students 3 seats are kept reserved in the institute. Another 3 seats are kept reserved for the students who are sponsored by an NRI. Such students must fill up the institute application form and clearly specify that they are applying under this category. They may be exempted from appearing in the written test.

N.B: If in case, scores are not available, e.g. CAT, CDS examination, candidates should be able to provide proof of their clearing the examinations by submitting copies of call letters for the next stage of selection. It is, however, clarified that XIMIT reserves the right to make its own judgment in evaluating the applicants for calling them for Group Discussion and the Personal Interview. Mere clearance of the above mentioned tests or being called for subsequent selection process would not automatically render applicants eligible for GD and PI. Moreover, such applicants must fulfill the eligibility criteria in their graduation/post graduation.
